A family trip to Derwentwater, whilst not the iconic view from Friars Crag it was so busy that I had to find somewhere else to set up. With the dogs playing in the water with the kids I stood shin deep and set my tripod up for this long exposure. An august bank holiday, typically English weather with sun and rain. I managed to capture this shot of the 'Jaws of Borrowdale" whilst the weather was turning which provided this lovely glow.

The Lakes, my spiritual home, I can’t believe the first time I visited was only a few years ago. I instantly fell in love and now travel there as often as I can. The raw beauty of the lakes is timeless, with shimmering lakes and beautiful mountains which have inspired many poets, painters and of course photographers.

Stunning in any weather, it really is a world apart and thankfully only a couple of hours away.

Everyone has a favourite part of the lakes, why not remember that break or long weekend with a piece of wall art for your home or office so you can continue to enjoy the tranquillity the lakes offer.

Don’t see anything you like? I do commissions and can visit areas to capture specific landscapes to meet your vision. Check out my commissions page for more information.
