This was my first ever photo of the lakes, a family trip to Aira Force and literally a ten minute stop at the edge of Ullswater was all I needed.
Calm is the only feeling you get when visitng the lakes.
My spiritual home, I can’t believe the first time I visited was only a few years ago. I instantly fell in love and now travel there as often as I can. The raw beauty of the lakes is timeless, with shimmering lakes and beautiful mountains which have inspired many poets, painters and of course photographers.
Stunning in any weather, it really is a world apart and thankfully only a couple of hours away.
