Another early alarm and a 2 hour dash to The Lakes, this shot was taken on my second trip to Ashness Bridge. Its quite possibly the most photographed bridge in the Lake District. This beautiful packhorse bridge crosses Barrow Beck which flows in to Derwent Water on its eastern side a couple of miles from Keswick. Taken at sunrise on a cold winter morning with views of Skiddaw in the background.

The Lakes, my spiritual home, I can’t believe the first time I visited was only a few years ago. I instantly fell in love and now travel there as often as I can. The raw beauty of the lakes is timeless, with shimmering lakes and beautiful mountains which have inspired many poets, painters and of course photographers.

Stunning in any weather, it really is a world apart and thankfully only a couple of hours away.

Everyone has a favourite part of the lakes, why not remember that break or long weekend with a piece of wall art for your home or office so you can continue to enjoy the tranquillity the lakes offer.

Don’t see anything you like? I do commissions and can visit areas to capture specific landscapes to meet your vision. Check out my commissions page for more information.
