My first trip to Rydal Water, I tend to plan my visits in advance, but I must admit I wasn't sure where to set up for sunrise. The wind wasn't as calm as I expected so with no relfections available I opted for a long exposure. With the low light this worked out to be a 7 minute long exposure which produced this swirling glow of cloud and fog in the morning sky.
The Lakes, my spiritual home, I can’t believe the first time I visited was only a few years ago. I instantly fell in love and now travel there as often as I can. The raw beauty of the lakes is timeless, with shimmering lakes and beautiful mountains which have inspired many poets, painters and of course photographers.
Stunning in any weather, it really is a world apart and thankfully only a couple of hours away.
Everyone has a favourite part of the lakes, why not remember that break or long weekend with a piece of wall art for your home or office so you can continue to enjoy the tranquillity the lakes offer.
